“Better than 1966” – England fans celebrate Germany’s World Cup exit

England fans have reacted to Germany’s early exit from the 2018 World Cup by celebrating like they’ve won the thing after the current champions failed to pass the group stage for the first time since 1938.

In an official poll of “Things That Make an England Fan Happiest”, the top three outcomes were revealed as follows:

1.      Germany losing
2.      England losing so we can moan about how bad England are
3.      England winning

Generic England fan Gary Gazman  remarked: “It's a dream come true, I always wondered if I'd ever see it in my lifetime but they've done it. This means the world to me. I'm so glad I could be around to enjoy it with my son too."

Already qualified from the group stage, England can now look forward to enjoying their usual helping of mediocrity and disappointment in the next round.
