Cambridge graduate too pretty to be taken seriously, claim male Bronte academics
Cambridge graduate, entrepreneur, humanitarian and model Lily Cole is “too pretty, too young and too woman” to be a creative partner of the Bronte Parsonage Museum, claim older male academics.
Despite a glowing CV, 30-year-old Cole has no right to be awarded the position according to some Bronte experts, on the basis that supermodels are simply “too silly and girly” to have their academic interests taken seriously.
One ill-informed vexed oldy even denounced his membership of the Bronte Society, firm in the belief a brilliant young woman has no right to input on the legacy of a brilliant young woman like Emily Bronte.
