BBC cloned Mark Chapman in 2015
The BBC has admitted they cloned sports broadcaster Mark 'Chappers' Chapman in 2015. Suspicions were first raised this year when viewers noticed Mark Chapman was presenting Football Focus, rugby league and his radio show, all live - all at the same time.
In a statement, BBC Director-General Tony Hall, revealed, "It's true, we made two clones of him in 2015. In Mark we had found the perfect 'everyman'. We thought: why do we need to find new broadcasting talent - why don't we get Mark to host everything?! So that's what we did: football, rugby, NFL - we have a Mark for all of them. And we don't pay the clones - only the real Mark - so we're getting real bang for the licence fee payer's buck too."
The BBC are currently training two more Mark Chapman clones which will enter service next year; one to host the darts and the other to appear on Strictly Come Dancing.
