Kevin from Basingstoke declares independence
Inspired by the people of Catalonia; Basingstoke man Kevin Hatcher has declared 31 Birch Close as the newly independent 'Kingdom of Kevin'.
Mr. Hatcher, 34 and single, explained, "I didn't know you could just vote for independence without it being ratified or anything, but I thought if it's good enough for the Catalans, it's good enough for me! 100% of the electorate turned out, with a landslide 100% voting in favour of becoming an independent state."
